Weight Gain
Weight gain is important during pregnancy but ask your doctor how much weight you should gain at this time of your life. It is different for different women. If you happen to be underweight you need to weigh more and if you’re overweight you would need to gain less.
Eating Habits
There are certain foods and drinks that you should specifically not eat during pregnancy. For example. don’t eat more than two or three servings of fish every week. Don’t eat swordfish, shark, tilefish or mackerel. Wash everything before eating. Consume four or more servings dairy every day. Don’t drink more than one to two cups of coffee or any other drink that has caffeine every day. Ask your doctor what you should eat and what you shouldn’t for maintaining a balanced diet.
Medicines
You need to be very aware when taking any kind of medicine. Always ask your doctor if you can take medicines such as pain relievers, over-the-counter medications, and others. Some of these medicines may cause birth defects. What you can always take is folic acid every day. You should have at least 400 mcg of it. This medicine helps prevent problems with the spinal cord and brain of your baby. Ask your physician if you can take more than the said amount.
Exercise
Unless your pregnancy is complicated, you should exercise every day. Exercise promotes a healthy lifestyle & can ease discomfort. Exercise half an hour every day. Don’t overdo it. Always listen to what your body says. Talk to your physician about the conditions, which can prevent your exercise. However, if you experience any of these symptoms like dizziness, stomach pain, blurred vision or chest pain, get in touch with your doctor.
Acupuncture
Whether you are experiencing morning sickness, nausea, tiredness or lack of energy, acupuncture treatment every week can be beneficial to you if you are in your first trimester. Acupuncture is a very beneficial pregnancy care tip for expectant mothers. It even helps to reduce labor time for a woman.
