Short follicular stage
Short follicular phase of the cycle, this is the stage at the start of the womans new cycle, when the old endometrium is shed and a new lining is growing once the menses have ceased, this is the stage when the egg producuing follicles are growing and the fertile cervical secretions are being produced. If there is to short a follicular stage in the womans menstrual cycle, the follicles will fail to produce a dominant follicle that is mature enough to release an egg when ovulation is due to happen mid cycle,or you may see an egg released that is not of the best quality for fertilsation to take place and implantation to be successful. In this situation Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine may be helpful in lengthening the follicular stage of the cycle to around 13/14 days.
